Infinite Respawncast – Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Chris and Dylan made it back from Jakku to talk about the newest Star Wars film, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. But first, Chris has some beef with Palm Bay. But then they go into full spoilers on Star Wars, so do not listen to this if you HAVE NOT seen the film yet. That is your final warning. There is a lot of discussion of JJ Abrams as a director, the franchise as a whole, and the strengths/weaknesses of The Force Awakens. Not to belittle the rest of the podcast, but the guys also discuss some news and new releases (there might as well not be any). Chris saw Brooklyn, and then both Dylan and Chris discuss 2015 in television.

Show Notes:

Infinite Respawncast – Beasts of Crimson Peak

Chris and Dylan record a podcast during the Federal election for Canada, right after Star Wars tickets go on sale and a new trailer is released, and still late at night. They discuss Crimson Peak and Bridge of Spies, while Dylan talks about Dope, and Chris talks The Hallow (showing at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival) and Beasts of No Nation. And news? We’ve got news. Luc Besson finally gets what he deserves, and Doug Liman may be signing up for failure or preparing to finally shine bright in Gambit. Next week we are not going to be able to avoid talking about Steve Jobs, but know how much Chris wants to see The Last Witch Hunter.

Show Notes:

Infinite Respawncast – The Minions of Comic-Con

What if Minions worked for Hitler? That’s just how the show starts! Chris and Dylan break down the new family film, Minions, before going into what is a pretty good week for new releases. Three Criterion releases and some great horror and science fiction in It Follows and Ex Machina, respectively. Then Chris explains why you probably shouldn’t bother watching Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, which also comes out this week. Though, I doubt you really needed a reason not to watch it. Dylan actually went and saw a movie you might be excited for: The Wolfpack. If you haven’t been paying attention to the internet, you may not have known that San Diego Comic-Con was happening. Well don’t worry because we’ve got your back. From trailers to some inevitable Star Wars news, one person destroys the other person’s hopes for each individual piece of news. You can thank the Deadpool trailer for this week’s opening track. Prepare for next week when Chris makes Dylan watch Ant-Man for your amusement.

Infinite Respawncast – The Half-Frozen Fish Mouth

a3891144316_10

Hey world, it’s a threesome edition of the Infinite Respawncast. The episode title might make sense while listening. Or it won’t. Tyler and Phil were out doing god-knows-what, so Jeff, Lucas and I try to spend an hour talking about video games without them on board. We succeed (kind of).

Infinite Respawncast – EA, Ubisoft And Nintendo E3 Recap

screenshot1

Everything’s nuts right now while E3 is happening, but Philip Flood and Jeff Kekenj joined me to start some recaps for a handful of the conferences. Microsoft and Sony recaps will be on the way too, but for now, we discussed the minimalist EA conference, the typical Ubisoft conference, and the crowd-pleasing Nintendo Direct. Join us for discussions of those conferences as well as some talk about Nintendo overall, and how much Phil hates Dawnguard.

And hey, we have a name now. Maybe it’ll change, but I like this one.

Check out the podcast below, and hear how much better sounding it is:
