Infinite Respawncast – End of 2015 Debates

Chris and Dylan sharpen their knives, detach themselves from any emotional connections, lock themselves in rooms across the country from each other, and yell about the best acting (male and female), best cinematography, best screenplay, best directing and the best scenes in film of 2015. Next week we will have our personal year-end lists for the best and worst films of 2015. There should not be any debates, just lots of us being excited about the year in film.

Click past the Joe Manganiello gif for YouTube videos (separated by category, will be added throughout the next couple days) and the complete list of nominees and winners.

The Look of Silence Review

If you were alive in 2013 (and if you’re reading this then you definitely were) and have any fleeting interest in film, you may have heard of a little film called The Act of Killing. Joshua Oppenheimer’s masterpiece stormed over the film scene with its intense look at the ignored genocide in Indonesia and the consequences of those actions, but from the eyes of the murderers. The film is incredibly haunting and filled with some of the most horrific descriptions of torture to ever be heard, and with such nonchalance to boot. Oppenheimer arrived this year with the follow-up, The Look of Silence, a film as horrifying and frightening as the first film, but in a more traditional sense.

Infinite Respawncast – Mission Impossible: Kiss From a Rogue Nation

Sorry for the delay guys, but it’s been a hassle getting this episode together. Chris and Dylan make it the whole podcast without quoting Mission Impossible lines, which is a feat in itself. Then they go into some new releases (there’s actually a bunch, but we just touch on a handful). Chris briefly overviews PixelsPaper Towns, and Vacation. Then him and Dylan discuss Joshua Oppenheimer’s latest documentary: The Look of Silence. What better way to switch gears than for Dylan to go into his thoughts on Man of Steel and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
